Trata 2.1
Jahr: 2024
Ziele/Ideen
Industrial parks and big companies are the biggest generators of traffic (and consequently GHG emissions) but that is not dealt with on a sistemic, national level. We conducted a pilot project where we collaborated with very different stakeholders in working out solutions for the challenges companies face when deling with mobility
Kurzbeschreibung
Project Trata 2.1 (industrial park for the 21. century) focuses on promoting sustainable mobility among the employees of three big production companies in industrial zone Trata, changing commuting habits toards more sustainable means of traveling and consequently reducing the GHG emissions.
We approached the promoting of sustainable mobility from different angles. We have done the methodological approach with surveys of mobility paterns, preparing mobility plans for the companies, naming mobility coordinators and then measuring the impacts. We conducted 3 bigger campaigns promoting sustainable mobility among employees, measuring the satisfaction and improving accordingly. We have been leardning good practices abroad, implementing them in our environment and collecting the ones that worked in "Advice for managing mobility in business zones".
Resultate
With all of the above we managed to reduce the number of people arriving to work individually in a car for aproximatelly 5% across all 3 companies (as of Nov 2023).
In September 2023 campaing "The car should stay at home as much as possible" 200 participants gathered over 20.000 sustainable km to work. In March this year we especially promoted carpooling. We had 84 participants in one month gathering over 6600 km. These are small steps, but also the companies together employ around 1300 employees, so we feel the impact was great :).
The social value is connection between the 3 mobility coordinators of each firm. On that we are now already talking to form a network for mobility coordinators and invite more companies to join, which would hopefully grow into a regional network for promoting sustainable mobility in the industrial and business parks.
